I started this blog earlier this morning with a different title and the hope that I would be reporting on the opening cash pricing for The Villas at Disneyland Hotel and how I successfully secured an opening night reservation. Instead, I think I’ve heard the song “I Will Go The Distance” around five times as I enter forty minutes of my estimated one-minute wait.
Reports over in the DVC Fan Facebook Group are not promising that even once I get through, it will get any better:
- Members that have gotten through are being told that there are booking issues affecting the ability to make reservations.
- Some are getting transferred to a different line with an over 150-minute wait time.
- Others just get disconnected.
Disneyland DVC Tower Cash Pricing
We’ve not yet received any official pricing confirmation, but here are some opening night prices being discussed in the DVC Fan Facebook Group by some Members that have gotten through:
- Standard Duo Studio – $655.20
- Preferred Duo Studio – $551.95
- Standard Deluxe Studio – $872.82
- Garden View Deluxe Studio – $818.70
- Preferred View Deluxe Studio – $994.50
- 1-Bedroom Villa – $1,205.96
- 2-Bedroom Villa – $2,387.97
First – Before I go any further, please extend sincere kindness to any Cast Members you speak with throughout this process. They did not cause these issues, and they are just along for the ride as much as the rest of us.
It amazes me with each of these experiences how surprised I am, and yet I shouldn’t be – This should’ve been the expectation going in because it is the best we’ve ever gotten with Disney Vacation Club. But so many things could’ve easily been done to prevent this mess that it always leaves me with my jaw on the floor.
Why wait until today to release cash reservation pricing?
Why not have a more detailed plan outlined for Members looking to book these reservations?
Why not mimic the process of DVC Member Cruise bookings? – That was a breeze when we did it last year!
The list could go on and on and on…
And yet here we are – Another Disney Vacation Club booking nightmare that could have been avoided and better managed. If you have any other reason you need to speak with Member Services today, I would recommend waiting until tomorrow. In the meantime, I will continue to remain hopeful that “I Will Go The Distance!”
UPDATE 3/15/23 11:00am –
We’re booked and heading to Disneyland for the opening of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel! Look forward to sharing everything about this amazing new DVC property with you all!
Paul – Glad you and Amy were able to get booked. I too had craziness this morning with the booking. First, was on for about 1hr/10min and got cut off. Then called back and they wouldn’t even place you in the que, it just said call back later and hung up. Finally got in with a wait time of 87min, which turned out to be pretty close to the actual time a person came on the phone. I was on for 1hr/53min by the time my reservation was completed. Whew!!!
We also made it for the opening. Maybe we’ll see you there 🙂
Thanks for all you do.
