Returning this year is the Disney Vacation Club Halloween Meet & Treat at the BoardWalk’s Atlantic Dance Hall! These membership magic events are open to DVC members who are eligible for membership extras (DVC-Y designation) and staying at a Disney-owned-and-operated-resort. No registration is necessary. Here’s a look at what you can expect at this year’s event.
Logistics

The event is scheduled for 2pm to 4pm on select dates. When I went on October 9, there was already a line forming outside Atlantic Dance Hall around 1:20pm. Guests first have to show cast members their digital membership cards and then have their magic band scanned to show their resort stay. There was a little confusion about how the line worked, but eventually things smoothed out. Inside the vestibule, cast members distributed Halloween-themed reusable bags.
From there, one main line went directly to the character meet and greet area, and another line diverged to the right for the balloon artists. The line inside moved rather slowly, and characters do take breaks every so often, so be prepared to spend a little time at the event.
Character Meet and Greets

Guests had the opportunity to meet 3 characters: Minnie in her witch costume, Lotso from “Toy Story 3,” and Hades from “Hercules.” The characters were in separate stations and each had themed backdrops. The line here was efficient, and allowed guests to move from one character to the next. Although there were no Photopass photographers, cast members helped take pictures with guests’ cell phones.
Balloon Artists

Balloon artists created balloon animals and hats for kids and big kids alike. These included some Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Tinker Bell, Grogu, Simba, Figment, and even Jack Skellington and Dr. Facilier to name a few! There seemed to be no character that those balloon artists couldn’t create.
Candy

What would a Meet & Treat be without treats? There were two spots in which cast members gave out candy. The variety of candy included Skittles, M&M’s, Starbursts, Snickers, Milky Ways, and Three Musketeers. This is where the reusable bags came in handy.
There are still two more dates left for the Disney Vacation Club Halloween Meet & Treat. If you are eligible for membership extras and staying at a Disney resort on October 30 or 31, check it out! It was a really cute, fun event for all ages.
we’re going on 10/30- my birthday! We are looking forward to it! Thanks for the heads up about the line forming early- we’ll be sure to get there before 2pm!
Have a great time on your birthday!
