If you’re wondering whether an Aulani 1-Bedroom Villa has enough room for a Hawai’i trip, the short answer is yes for most couples and small families. Disney lists the villa at 756 square feet, sleeping up to five guests, with a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a private lanai. Amy and I filmed a full walkthrough of one in August 2026 at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, and the video below takes you through every room so you can see the layout for yourself before you book.
What You Need to Know

- Extras: In-villa washer and dryer, private lanai or balcony, two TVs, and ceiling fans.
Inside the Aulani 1-Bedroom Villa
The living area is where a 1-bedroom earns its points. It’s the space that turns a hotel stay into something closer to a vacation home, with room for the family to spread out after a beach day and a place to hang wet swimsuits that isn’t the bathroom doorknob. The queen sleeper sofa and pull-down single bed live here, so a family of five can make it work, though the living room effectively becomes a second bedroom at night.
The bedroom has a king bed and its own TV, giving parents a real door to close once the kids are asleep. That separation is the biggest practical difference from a Deluxe Studio, and for many Members it’s the reason to spend the extra points.
The Full Kitchen
The full kitchen matters more at Aulani than at almost any other DVC resort. Ko Olina is about 30 to 45 minutes from Honolulu depending on traffic, and dining on property adds up quickly. Having a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and full set of cookware means you can stock up at a grocery store on the way in, make breakfast every morning, and save resort dining for the meals you really want. Disney also includes a rice cooker, a small touch that fits the Hawai’i setting nicely.
Bathroom, Laundry, and Lanai
The bathroom pairs a whirlpool tub with a separate rain-head shower. Like other DVC 1-bedrooms, there’s only one full bathroom, which is worth thinking about if you’re traveling with five people who all want to get ready at the same time.
The in-villa washer and dryer is one of the most underrated features for a Hawai’i trip. Between the pools, the lazy river, snorkeling at Rainbow Reef, and the lagoon, you’ll go through swimsuits and towels fast. Being able to run a load overnight lets you pack lighter for what is a long flight for most Members. The private lanai or balcony rounds things out, and depending on your view category, it can be one of the best parts of the villa.

Which Aulani View Should You Book?
Aulani villas are booked in four view categories: Standard, Island Gardens, Island Pool, and Ocean. Standard views generally face the parking area, while Ocean views sit on higher floors looking toward the water. Because point costs rise with each category, the right choice depends on how much time you expect to spend on the lanai versus at the pool, the beach, or exploring O’ahu. If you plan to be out most days, a Standard or Island Gardens view can stretch your points for extra nights.
Who Is the Aulani 1-Bedroom Villa Best For?
The 1-bedroom is a strong fit for couples who want space on a longer stay, families of three or four, and anyone who plans to cook a meal or two. Families of five can fit, but a 2-bedroom villa will feel far more comfortable for a week-long trip with older kids or two couples traveling together.
If you aren’t an Aulani owner, renting points is one of the most affordable ways to stay in a villa like this one. Aulani’s DVC contract runs through January 31, 2062, which also makes it a resort plenty of buyers consider for long-term ownership.
