While Disney Cruise Line no longer offers actual land and sea packages that combine a trip to Walt Disney World with a Disney cruise, it’s still common for guests to book a Disney resort to enjoy before or after their cruise. When it comes to DVC, which resorts are best for pre- and post-cruise?
For Low Points
If stretching your points matters most, the older DVC resorts will be the most economical thanks to their low points charts. This includes Old Key West, BoardWalk, Boulder Ridge, Beach Club, Saratoga Springs, and Animal Kingdom Lodge. Copper Creek may be a newer resort, but since its point chart is in line with that of Boulder Ridge, it too can be a good choice.
Among these resorts, studios start at as little as 7 points a night for a Value Studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but even the easier-to-book Deluxe Studio at Old Key West starts at as few as 9 points a night.
For Relaxation

Old Key West and Saratoga Springs are top picks when it comes to relaxing resorts at Walt Disney World thanks to their peaceful atmospheres. However, another great option before or after a cruise is Vero Beach, especially when you still want those beach vacation vibes. For cruises out of Port Canaveral, Vero Beach is about an hour and a half away.
For Park Hopping

Other guests prefer to focus on the theme parks before or after their cruise. Some specifically prefer to enjoy the theme parks first and then venture off on the cruise as a vacation from their park-heavy vacation.
If that’s more your style, the best DVC resorts would be the monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Bay Lake Tower, or Polynesian) or the EPCOT resorts (Beach Club, BoardWalk, and Riviera). Each of these resorts has easy access to two resorts, be it Magic Kingdom and EPCOT or EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, so you can travel more quickly and maximize your time at the theme parks.
