Boardwalk DVC Resorts News and Updates

Take a Peek at the NEW BoardWalk Keister Coaster Water Slide

Update: After what we will forever refer to as #KeisterGate, today we received some updated images from Imagineer Zach Riddley of the new BoardWalk slide along with the following updated message:

“Our @waltdisneyworld and @WaltDisneyImagineering teams are even closer to completing the brand-new design at the end of the Keister Coaster slide at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. In these sneak peek photos with the updated graphic (that’s kEIster! We triple-checked!), you can see that Mickey Mouse and his pals are the ones clowning around as they splash down into Luna Park Pool. I can’t wait for guests to join along in the fun when the slide reopens soon!”

Earlier today on Instagram, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared with us the first sneak peek of the new Mickey and pals ‘Keister Coaster’ water slide at Luna Park Pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas!

At first glance, however, we couldn’t help but be a little confused by the spelling displayed on the slide’s new graphics.

In the post, Zach states:

Our @waltdisneyworld and @WaltDisneyImagineering teams are almost complete with the brand-new design at the end of the Keister Coaster slide at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. In this sneak peek photo of our team installing the new graphic, you can see that now Mickey Mouse and his pals are the ones clowning around as they splash down into Luna Park Pool. I can’t wait for guests to join along in the fun when the slide reopens soon!

This image and post has since been removed from Zach Riddley’s Instagram. In an Instagram Story posted a short time later, Riddley stated,

“Gawrsh, We’re feeling a little “Goofy” about a typo. Luckily, We’re still putting the finishing touches on our slide and will make changes before opening for guests at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.”

Let us know in the comments what you think of this first look at the new slide! Love it? Miss the clown?

I hate it. The clown was perfectly freaky Atlantic boardwalk and totally in theme. I know it’s Disney but feel the theming should be true to the resort with subtle Disney characters. Not happy.

I’m so glad it’s Disney themed and not the creepy clown!

I think the clown was creepy, but the new theming seems pretty lackluster (true for most things Disney has rethemed). Taking a 3D element and flattening it to somwthing more basic…eh. as Mom used to say I’m not angry, just disappointed.

Loved the creepy clown, it was really creepy at night! They should have just put up a new brightly colored clown that would have been awesome!!!

Honestly? This looks like the scrim that covers the construction projects so it’s not just a bland wall but something tolerable.

Ugh! I am not a fan of the way the characters look now a days. Too much of that Ren and Stimpy feel for me and not that endearing Disney touch they used to have. The creepy clown was way better!

Paul – I guess we need to call you Paul Kreiger now instead of Paul Krieger.
