FIRST LOOK: Boulder Ridge DVC Room Refurbishment

Boulder Ridge Exterior Mickey Sign

Today we’ve got our first look at the upcoming Boulder Ridge DVC room refurbishment as shown at the D23 Expo!

DVC Member Brian Kowalenko shared the following photo that was on display at the expo of this long-awaited room refurbishment coming to Boulder Ridge:

From the photo, it appears that the Boulder Ridge DVC room refurbishment will bring many recent trends to these newly remodeled villas. This includes the highly popular queen-size Murphy pull-down bed that was first seen at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Other notable touches are the low-profile bed frame with under-bed storage and laminate flooring throughout the villa. This style is reminiscent of most of the recent Disney Vacation Club room refurbishments.

Boulder Ridge DVC Refurbishment Construction Update

We’ve also been getting some recent reports of construction beginning for the Boulder Ridge DVC room refurbishment! Several users on DISboards recently posted photos of several rooms already under construction:

From the pictures, we can see that the rooms are getting completely gutted ahead of the refurb. Construction appears to be currently isolated to several rooms on the 4th and 5th floors of Boulder Ridge. Guests are still allowed to stay on these floors, suggesting that large-scale work may still be a ways off. There is no known estimated completion date for the project at this time.

Boulder Ridge was originally scheduled for refurbishment in 2020. Since then, it has faced a series of delays, largely due to the effects of the pandemic. The resort was also skipped over for soft goods refresh work on the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. Owners and fans of Boulder Ridge have been growing increasingly frustrated by the delay in this long overdue refurbishment.

We hope to learn more on this, and other upcoming Disney Vacation Club projects at Sunday’s D23 Parks and Resorts panel!

I don’t think the people that came up with the color scheme have ever been to a PNW national park…

I don’t understand the headboard. Why red and blue.

As owners at Boulder Ridge, which we love, I’ve come to the point of thinking that almost anything they do will be better than nothing. (Maybe that’s what DVC is thinking we’ll all be thinking, which could be a problem.) That being said, I hope the reality is better than this picture looks. I don’t need rustic and dark. But I do want some touch of national-park theming with a complete remodel and refresh. I’m glad to see the murphy bed. I hope the chair in the lower left means they’ll include a table in the studios–something they failed to include in the SSR refurb. Praying they don’t use barn doors for the bathrooms, which I loathe.

Delighted to see it happening. Long overdue. Hope it doesn’t take as long as Tron to complete

What on earth? What is that color scheme? I just don’t know what to say.
