Lakeshore Lodge News and Updates

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Is Now Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

It feels a little strange that we even need to write an article about this, but here we are.

For clarity, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is now Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

Yes. The big news is an apostrophe and an “s.”

The subtle name change appears to have been made official with a trademark filing on August 11, 2026, for Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge. Disney has also been quietly updating references to the upcoming Disney Vacation Club property online, most notably on Disney Parks Blog, where the resort is now consistently referred to as Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge Finally Sounds Like a Disney Resort

Frankly, the original name always sounded a little odd.

When Disney formally shared additional details about the resort in April 2026, its press materials called the property Disney Lakeshore Lodge, without the possessive. But look back through DVC history and you’ll find Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and so on.

Apparently, Disney finally found the missing apostrophe.

And if you’re anything like us, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve already been calling it Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge anyway. Saying “Disney Lakeshore Lodge” required the kind of deliberate concentration normally reserved for remembering your Use Year or explaining borrowing rules to a family member.

Our guess? This was simply an oversight dating back to the resort’s announcement and is now being cleaned up as Disney moves closer to its planned summer 2027 opening. Disney Parks Blog currently uses the possessive name throughout its ongoing “Letters from Lakeshore” coverage.

So, henceforth, let it be known:

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.

The apostrophe has arrived. Order has been restored to the DVC universe.

We look forward to sharing considerably more consequential news about Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge as the resort continues toward its 2027 debut.
