First Look: Refurbished Saratoga Springs Treehouse Villas

While most of Saratoga Springs underwent a full refurbishment that was completed in 2021, the Treehouse Villas remained untouched since they opened in 2009, several years after the original sections of Saratoga Springs.  Last June, Disney filed notice of commencement which indicated the start of a full refurbishment for the 60 standalone Treehouse Villas, and now Walt Disney Imagineering is sharing a first glimpse of the updated Treehouse Villa with a video of the refurbishment process from 3D model to functional model room to contractor model room.

The Inspiration

For this update to the Treehouse Villas, Imagineers were inspired by natural materials, organic color palettes, wood carvings, and the storytelling of Disney Animation.  Throughout the villa’s artwork and upholstery, you can spot characters from films like Tangled, The Fox and the Hound, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Princess and the Frog, Cinderella, and Mulan–all characters that Imagineers felt like they could envision living or showing up at a Treehouse Villa.

Key Updates

Overall, the refurbed Treehouse Villa maintains the woodsy aesthetics of the original Treehouse Villas, but the space feels brighter with a lighter color palette.  Most of the brief video tour focuses on the kitchen and living room area where you can see green cabinetry, updated kitchen appliances, new counter stools and light fixtures, a new couch and chairs, and a more modern looking dining room table.  Within one of the bedrooms, beautiful new Fox and the Hound artwork serves as the focal point behind the headboard while a throw pillow featuring the birds from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs adds a pop of color and touch of Disney character.

The renovations are taking place in phases through this September.  However, according to Walt Disney Imagineering, the newly reimagined Treehouse Villas will debut over the next few months, so DVC Members can look forward to staying in some of them in the very near future.
