Disney Vacation Club Announces Price Increases for 2024

Disneyland Hotel DVC

Disney Vacation Club has announced that it will be increasing prices on actively selling properties effective from January 30, 2024. These price hikes have become somewhat of an annual tradition, often taking place around the start of the year.

The DVC Price Increase Details

The increase will affect current actively selling direct properties including The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas.

Please see below for a detailed chart outlining the upcoming price increases:

ResortCurrent Direct PricePrice Effective 1/30/2024Increase
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel$230$239+ $9
Disney’s Riviera Resort$217$225+ $8
Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas $217$225+ $8
New Pricing Effective January 30th, 2024.

The Motivation Behind the Price Increase

It’s likely that several factors are at play when it comes to this Disney Vacation Club price increase. One of the key motivations could be to gradually inch overall direct prices closer to $250 per point in anticipation of the sales launch for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness and the Polynesian DVC Tower in 2024.

Disney has a history of raising prices ahead of new property launches. By increasing the cost per point for existing properties, the company can set a higher initial price point for new resorts, making them seem more reasonably priced in comparison.

This strategy also aligns with the rumored introduction of a bundled trust product. This product could potentially push pricing upwards of $275 per point. The bundled trust product would allow members to purchase points that can be used across multiple “trusts” or collections of DVC Resorts.

By increasing prices now, Disney may be aiming to normalize these higher price points, making such a product more palatable to consumers when it’s introduced.

The Growing Appeal of DVC Resale Contracts

As prices for direct properties continue to climb, the savings associated with buying a DVC Resale contract have become harder to overlook. For those unfamiliar with the concept, a resale contract allows you to purchase DVC points from an existing member rather than directly from Disney. This can often result in significant savings.
