Renting a Golf Cart for Your DVC Fort Wilderness Stay: What You Need to Know!

With the newest Disney Vacation Club resort opening soon at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, it’s important to know ahead of time anything that can make your trip more enjoyable. Fort Wilderness is a large and sprawling resort. While there is internal bus transportation to get you around the area, it might also be helpful for you to consider renting a golf cart.

Disney has recently made some updates to their policies when it comes to golf cart rentals. Below are all the details you need to know to rent or bring a golf cart for your upcoming stay in the Fort Wilderness DVC cabins!

Renting a Golf Cart

Golf carts can be rented directly through Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Guests can make these reservations by calling in advance 407-824-2742. It’s important to reserve your golf cart as soon as possible since they are based on availability and can potentially sell out.

A few important notes about golf cart rentals:

The line is available to call 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. To expedite the process, have your cabin reservation number and credit card ready.

Guaranteed pickup of golf carts starts at 1pm on check in day and carts need to be returned by 11am on last day of rental. Walk up reservations are allowed if they have availability.

I called to inquire about pricing and received the following information: 4 seater golf carts are $70 per night to rent and 6 seater golf carts are $90 per rent. While pricing is always subject to change, these prices are current for rentals of any dates at the time of writing this article.

When you arrive at the resort, you will be able to pick up your rented golf cart by visiting the Outpost. The Outpost is located near the entrance to the resort.

It’s important to note that Disney’s rules prohibit unauthorized commercial activity which includes unauthorized rentals brought on property by non-resort guests. Therefore renting from a third party company is not allowed unless the guests is bringing the golf cart onto property themselves. *Please note proof of insurance requirements when bringing your own golf cart on property below.

**In a previous newsletter from Disney to travel agents, the wrong number was accidentally published for golf cart rentals. That number will connect you with Shades of Green. The number provided above (407-824-2742) is the correct number for golf cart rentals.

Bringing Your Own Golf Cart

Guests are welcome to bring their own golf carts. However, they must also be prepared to *present proof of insurance and sign an agreement and waiver.
