The Best Season to be a DVC Member

Magic Kingdom Fall Decorations

Just as everyone has their favorite season, every Disney Vacation Club Member has their favorite time of year to use their membership. Spring brings us the beautiful sights of Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival. In the summer, rooms are easier to snag at the seven-month mark, and the 4th of July fireworks are nothing short of spectacular. Much of winter falls into Adventure Season, where point costs are at their lowest. Add to that the Holiday festivities,  Festival of the Arts, and Marathon Weekend, and it’s easy to see why so many people are more than willing to leave cold weather behind and head to Disney. For Amy and I, however, there is one season that ranks supreme, and that is fall. Here are just a few reasons why we think fall is the best season to be a DVC member:

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Epcot has many great festivals, but our favorite will always be Food & Wine. This festival continues to have the best selection of booths and food-related activities. As DVC members, it’s hard to beat staying at an Epcot area resort during this time and walking over to Food & Wine whenever you please.

Fall Decor and Celebrations

One of my favorite Disney sights is looking down Main Street USA and seeing dozens of Mickey pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns aglow. The fall decorations in the parks, as well as Disney Springs, really set the tone for the season. In addition to that, special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the WonderFall Flavors celebration at Disney Springs give lots of opportunities to enjoy this beautiful season.

Low Points Cost

All of fall either falls under the Adventure or Choice season, which are the two lowest costing point categories of the year. Due to this, visiting in the fall will get you more bang for your points. By saving points, you can afford to stay longer, in a larger villa, or have points leftover for another trip.

While we personally love what fall offers us as DVC Members, we realize that everyone has their own favorite time of year to visit the magic of Disney. Recently, we asked our DVC Fan Community over on Facebook what time of year they loved the most. Here are the results of that poll, along with a few of our favorite responses:

Let us know in the comments if you agree that fall is the best time of year to visit Walt Disney World or if you have another favorite season!

WE greatly enjoy the time of the year as well. although due to my wife’s school schedule, isn’t always a possibility. So many people choose to go then that it is harder to secure a room in this time period, especially since F&W and other events start in August. Definitely no longer the Best Kept Secret!
