Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House Closed for Initial Walt Disney World Resort Reopening

Walt Disney World has released details regarding the June 22nd reopening of Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World that appears to confirm the rumored closure of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House.

In an announcement that listed the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts set to reopen on June 22nd, Jambo House was noticeably absent with no further specifics provided.

This appears to correspond with sporadic reports that have popped up in the DVC Fan Facebook Group and on DISboards over the past few days, suggesting that reservations for Jambo House have been moved to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village.

Earlier today, DVC Fan Member Gregory K. spoke with Member Services via the chat feature and received this response when inquiring about Jambo House:

No specific details have been released at this time regarding how current reservations will be treated, and many with resort reservations have yet to be contacted about the apparent closure.  DVC Members have been encouraged to contact Member Services at (800) 800-9800 if they have questions about their reservation.

Additionally, there has been no information released that suggests how long the closure of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House will last.

This news is breaking, and updates will be posted as they are received. Stay tuned to DVC Fan, the DVC Fan Facebook Group, and The DIS for more information as it becomes available.

It is being reserved for the NBA, probably unavailable until after their season / October.

We’ve yet to really get any real confirmed reason for its closure… While there are rumors of NBA and MLS, nothing has been announced. It could very well just be they don’t want to open it in June since the DVC portion is so small.

Maybe it’s because of the people pens (fenced-in areas that the stairs lead out to – used to keep guests and animals separated in the event of a fire alarm.)
Maintaining distancing in the people pens would be impractical, and of course they can’t have people ignore a fire alarm.
Also, the DVC portion is small as Paul said.

PS: If a fire alarm goes off anywhere, do NOT ignore it! Go out the nearest emergency exit (not necessarily the main entrance!)
