Heads up, DVC Members and Disney Resort guests! Disney has announced that the Disney Skyliner will undergo a short refurbishment from January 25 through January 31, 2026. During this time, all Skyliner lines will be closed, and complimentary bus transportation will be provided as an alternative.
This temporary closure is part of routine maintenance to ensure the safety and efficiency of this popular transportation system.
What This Means for DVC Members
The refurbishment is likely to have the most noticeable impact on Disney Vacation Club Members staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, and Disney’s Beach Club Villas—three resorts that rely heavily on the Skyliner for quick and convenient access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
If you’re planning a stay at one of these properties during the affected week, be aware that travel times may be longer due to increased demand on the bus system. While Disney will offer alternative transportation, the efficiency and appeal of the Skyliner—especially for early morning parkgoers—will definitely be missed.
That said, the week-long closure is expected to be brief and well-managed. As always, we recommend allowing extra travel time and planning accordingly.
Stay tuned to DVCFan.com for any further updates, and let us know in the comments if this closure might affect your upcoming trip!
