Disney’s Fort Wilderness Cabins Construction Will Last Until April 2025

We’ve recently learned that the transition of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort to new Disney Vacation Club accommodations is set to continue until April 2025. Here’s what we know so far about the ongoing construction work:

  1. Phased Completion Dates: The first stage of the cabin replacements is anticipated to be completed by July 1st, 2024. This phase will include an initial set of around 30 renewed cabins out of the total 350.
  2. Progress Updates: Following the initial release, construction and the replacement of existing cabins is expected to roll out progressively, with an estimated completion rate of 30-35 cabins each month.
  3. Timeline Flexibility: It’s worth noting that these dates are tentative. Based on previous refurbishments and other Disney construction projects, it’s possible that the schedule may adjust as the project progresses.
  4. DVC Planning Implications: For DVC members, the refurbishment schedule will be an important factor to consider when planning your stays, as cabin inventory will likely be extremely limited throughout 2024.
