The internet is full of bold claims about Disney vacations, from warnings that they’re overpriced to videos declaring they’re nothing more than a tourist trap. In this video, Paul and Amy Krieger watch a recent popular Disney-related video online and break down which opinions hold up and which ones miss the bigger picture. Drawing from years of Disney Vacation Club ownership and countless trips to Walt Disney World, they provide real-world context that many viral videos leave out.
Rather than simply agreeing or disagreeing with internet hot takes, the discussion explores why certain criticisms resonate with guests while also highlighting the value that experienced Disney travelers and DVC Members often find. Whether the topic is vacation costs, park planning, or common misconceptions about Disney vacations, this episode offers a balanced perspective that helps viewers separate clickbait from reality. If you’ve ever wondered whether Disney vacations are truly worth the investment or just want to see how viral Disney advice stacks up against actual Member experiences, this conversation delivers plenty of insight along the way.

July 9, 2026I enjoyed your comments on whether a Disney Vacation is really a trap. If it is, it is a trap we willingly walk into! However, I did think many of the comments made in the video you were reviewing were “click bate,” as you rightly remarked. I am convinced that almost everyone initially charges their vacation on credit cards. The real question is how many fail to pay off the charges when they come due. Like the two of you, we charge on our Disney Visa and then pay the balance each month. I wouldn’t call this “going into debt.” Thanks for a very entertaining video! Love the weekly show!

July 9, 2026You did a great job with this. Is anyone surprised that Disney has evolved in ways that bring in more $? Is that a “trap”, or just a business? Is anyone surprised that WDW is not an all inclusive resort? Is anyone ever better off by going into a vacation blindly with zero research? We love visiting WDW, love our DVC, but are not Disney apologists. There are many experiences and upgrades offered, and if it’s something we can’t afford or don’t feel like paying for, then we just don’t. Getting into debt from ANYTHING can be problematic and only should be done with full awareness. Thanks for the reality check on this!
