About Author

Paul lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Amy, and their three Spanish galgos, Hermès, Cinders, and Emerson. They’re Disney Vacation Club Members at five resorts, Disney World Annual Passholders, and always on the lookout for new ways to enjoy and maximize their DVC points. When he’s not at the parks or planning their next trip, Paul loves cooking (big Alton Brown fan), training for Disney races with Amy, and blasting Billy Joel in the background.

I’m not sure 1BR is the most miserly way to stretch DVC points. Paying cash for villas they are usually 1.25 to 1.5 the cost of studio, but are 2 times the points booking thru DVC (sometimes even more than double!). They’re nice but if looking from how much DVC is saving you vs Cash then 1BR not a good value.

BW has very low point chart for Standard studio. The issue is you’ll need to own there or rent from a BW owner. These rooms book right at 11 months because they’re such a great value. Lakeview or Boardwalk view are 2 categories but offered as the same amount of points. They are 14 or 15 pts a night when Standard view is 9 or 10 points. Huge difference. Great location.
