One of the most exciting times to be a Disney Vacation Club owner is just around the corner! That’s right, clear your calendars on Thursday, December 12th, 2019 at 2:00 pm, EST for the 2019 Disney Vacation Club Condominium Association Annual Meeting.
Are you laughing yet? You should be.
While the annual meeting provides some fascinating information and insight regarding DVC, the event itself is essentially a glorified dog and pony show. In truth, as DVC owners, we gave away any power we had at this meeting the day we happily signed next to Mickey and received our free backpack. Here’s a quick peek at some of that language:

As Matthew over on the DVC Fan Facebook Group put it, although your dreams of becoming condo association president are now crushed, it could still be fun to attend. The event is held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Convention Center. Members can register to attend by logging into their online account and choosing “Condo Association News” from the menu options.
Of all the news that comes out of the event, by far, the most interesting is the presentation and adoption of resort budgets for annual dues. These numbers not only set the annual dues payments for each resort and member, but also provides insight into why there may be an increase or decrease in these numbers.
Reports from the 2018 DVC Condo Association Meeting over on DISboards can also provide a hint to other pieces of information we may receive:
- We may learn small pieces of information regarding Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, similar to the updates we received about Disney’s Riviera Resort.
- In 2018, we learned about the transition to pump dispenser bottles for shower items throughout DVC Resorts.
- Refurb updates and announcements (Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, etc.).
- Discussion of Moonlight Magic and its future.

Many assume that DVC purposefully did not announce the 2020 point charts at last year’s meeting due to the controversy that ensued in the months that followed. While those were later reverted to more acceptable charts, Disney Vacation Club Management stated that they would further analyze demand and usage for 2021 charts and beyond.
Following the business meeting, members have the opportunity to meet with DVC executives at a reception with light refreshments.
Let us know in the comments if you plan to attend this year’s DVC Condo Association Annual Meeting! What are you hoping, or more importantly, NOT hoping to hear about during the meeting?
They were not too bad previously, but last years’ was a joke, very minimal info, ‘look how great we are’ type presentations, whilst they sat on the lock off premium points increases, deliberately. They probably knew there would be uproar, and as many have said, this whole episode damaged trust for many members. DVD’s darkest hour for sure.
Hopefully the dues increases will not be huge this year, but I’m expecting the worst with the salary increases.
