DVC Resort Refurbishment Updates: What’s New for Summer 2023?

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resorts are constantly evolving, and 2023 is no exception. With several refurbishment projects underway, DVC members have a lot to look forward to. From hard-goods overhauls to soft-goods upgrades, we’ve got the inside scoop on what to expect in the coming months. So, let’s dive in and see what’s new at DVC resorts!

Boulder Ridge Villas Refurbishment

Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has recently undergone a complete hard-goods refurbishment. We were lucky enough to stay here and experience a newly refurbished Deluxe Studio Villa. The update included a full overhaul of the kitchenette, new bedding, furniture, and fixtures. The deluxe studio also has a new queen-sized pull-down Murphy bed, providing additional sleeping space. The overall look is modern, sleek, and very comfortable.

Hilton Head Island Resort Refurbishment

This summer, Hilton Head Island Resort is set to begin refurbishing The Live Oak Lodge’s main lobby. The resort is also scheduled to undergo a full “hard-goods” refurbishment in 2023, including all guest rooms. With no work announced yet, it is highly possible this may get pushed back to 2024. Nevertheless, this is a great and much-needed updated to this beach-side DVC destination.

Beach Club Villas Soft-Goods Refurbishment

Speaking of beaches, Disney’s Beach Club Villas are currently undergoing a soft-goods refurbishment. This includes updating the bedding, window treatments, and upholstery in guest rooms. The refurbishment will also add modern technology to the rooms, such as smart TVs and more. We recently shared a look at some of the first rooms completed as part of this soft-goods refresh, which have a bright and colorful new look, which is sure to impress members.

Vero Beach Resort Refurbishment

Vero Beach Resort is scheduled to begin a soft-goods refurbishment starting this fall and running into next year. The refurbishment will replace the bedding and upholstery in guest rooms. This update will also include the addition of Murphy beds, which have become a member favorite in recent refurbishment projects. The aesthetic changes will offer a more contemporary feel to these resort rooms.

BoardWalk Villas Full Refurbishment

The highly anticipated full refurbishment of BoardWalk Villas is set to begin this fall and continue through next spring. The rooms will receive updated bathrooms, new artwork, select furniture, and refreshed flooring. The renovations will provide a contemporary feel, modern amenities, and keep the Boardwalk’s classic charm. This update is long-awaited and is sure to be exciting for DVC members when we get some of the first glances at it hopefully late this year!

From modernized furnishings to updated amenities, there is a lot for Disney Vacation Club Members to look forward to in the year ahead with these refurbishments. Special thanks to Disney Files Magazine for sharing with us all this exciting news. • Any update on BLT?

    • No news yet – Given how these things are always getting pushed or delayed I’d expect late 2024 / early 2025.

  • So did Beach Club Villas already get a complete hard-goods refurbishment this year, or has it only been soft goods this whole time?

    • Soft goods only schedule.

  • As a new member we have stayed already at vero, Hilton head, contemporary and boardwalk. While I can see refreshes are welcomed the resorts are in great shape. The one where we think a major refurb is needed is contemporary. I don’t know what people do to those rooms but it doesn’t seem the same as the other resorts we have stayed at.

  • I’m anxiously waiting for Animal Kingdom Lodge, both Kidani Village and Jambo House to be refurbished. The beds are awful and the furniture is too big for the size of the rooms. We use the accessible rooms. They cannot be entered or exited while on a scooter or wheel chair. Saratoga Springs installed the door opening button on their accessible rooms. A real pleasure.

    • I agree waiting for that also. AK needs murphy beds!!!

  • I thought HHI was starting in July ‘23? Seems I’ve seen that on DVCNews site?

    • In the most recent DisneyFiles magazine it was reported that lobby work is starting this summer at HHI, but to check back for room updates. I would not expect them to start any refurbishments on the rooms during their peak summer booking season.
