With construction well underway, guests now get a closer look at the Indiana Jones attraction, Encanto attraction, and carousel that are coming to Animal Kingdom where DinoLand U.S.A. was once located.
The Indiana Jones attraction (Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent) is based on the same ride system and track as the former Dinosaur attraction but will follow a brand new story with Indy visiting the Mayan temple to learn about a mythical creature. Imagineers have worked closely with archaeologists, anthropologists, and Maya experts to bring authentic details to their storytelling. Guests will begin their adventure as they find themselves sucked into a portal to the Maya Underworld, which is protected by the serpentine creature called the Tsukán. The attraction will feature a gigantic audio-animatronic of the Tsukán as well as an Indiana Jones audio-animatronic modeled after Harrison Ford.

The new Encanto attraction, Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto, brings Casita to life. Guests will sit in furniture-like ride vehicles and join in on the celebration of Antonio’s new magical gift of communicating with animals. More than 50 animals will appear in the attraction, including a capybara, toucan, and donkey, which were briefly shown at D23. This family-friendly attraction will have no height requirement, so the whole familia can enjoy it.

Guests of all ages can also enjoy the carousel (El Carrusel De Los Animalitos) that has been prominently featured in the concept art for Tropical Americas. The carousel will have 22 hand-carved Disney and Pixar figures, such as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, Nala from The Lion King, Pua from Moana, Kevin from Up, Nigel from Finding Nemo, and Chispi the capybara from Encanto.

In addition to these exciting attractions, Disney Parks Blog shared that Tropical Americas will also be home to a Maya-inspired playground, shops, and a new restaurant–a large hacienda that will be one of the largest quick service restaurants at Walt Disney World.
Tropical Americas is slated to open in 2027.
