DVC Members are often focused on Disney World and Disneyland, but if you’re exploring the international parks, here’s what you can look forward to in Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.
Tokyo Disneyland
Tomorrowland in Tokyo Disneyland is undergoing quite the transformation with a new Wreck-It Ralph attraction (Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue) and an updated Space Mountain (Space Mountain Earthrise).
Space Mountain Earthrise is expected to open in 2027. This new version of Space Mountain will still be an indoor roller coaster but with a new ride system that will launch guests from Earth into space with immersive lighting and sound effects.
Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue is set to replace Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters and will be based on the movie’s Sugar Rush racing game. It will introduce 12 new characters that were created specifically for this interactive ride. Ralph, Vanellope, and their friends will need your help to restore the Sugar Bugs and defeat King Candy using the attraction’s blasters.
Disneyland Paris
We now have more details for the Lion King land, which will be located next to World of Frozen in Disney Adventure World. The new water attraction will bring guests right into the 120-foot Pride Rock and retell Simba’s story with classic songs and scenes from The Lion King, audio-animatronic figures, and special effects. The ride is sure to thrill guests with its 3 slopes, including a 52-foot drop. Vehicle maquettes on display at D23 have revealed the log flumes for the water ride, which look similar to the ride vehicles for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
In addition to the water attraction, the Lion King land will create an immersive world with new dining, shopping, and character meet and greets.
We also learned that Hyperspace Mountain will soon be replaced with a reimagined Space Mountain De la Terre à la Lune, inspired by the original attraction that was based upon Jules Verne’s story. While guests can look forward to a refreshed experience, Space Mountain will bring back its original musical score.
Hong Kong Disneyland
Within the Stark Expo expansion that is taking over part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s Tomorrowland will be the new Avengers Tower, the home of Avengers Research Testing. The adventure begins with Stark Industries and Peter Parker testing a powerful technology that has unfortunately attracted the attention of some evil forces. The new Spider-Man drop tower attraction (similar to the Tower of Terror) will bring guests across familiar locations like Wakanda and Asgard.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Shanghai Disney Resort will soon be home to a new Spider-Man-themed land, where guests will find the new Shanghai division of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.). This will be the first time that a land has been dedicated exclusively to Spider-Man. The main attraction of this land will be a coaster assembled by a new set of Spider-Bots.
