Monstropolis in Hollywood Studios to Begin Opening in 2027

Big news for Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Parts of Monstropolis will open in 2027!  The new area will bring the world of Monsters, Inc. to life with new attractions, dining, and more as Monstropolis’ Department of Human Relations invites humans to Monstropolis for the first time in honor of H.U.M.A.N. Day (Humans Understanding Monsters Are Nice).

Attractions

The former home of Muppet Vision 3D will be transformed into the Glob Theater where Mike and Sulley will host a show welcoming humans to Monstropolis.  The show will feature a new song written by Disney Legend Randy Newman called “Welcome to Monstropolis.” Mike has a few surprises for the show, but things might not quite go according to plan…

Disney previously announced the main attraction in Monstropolis, Disney’s first-ever suspended roller coaster based on the thrilling door chase scene in Monsters, Inc.  The coaster’s speedy launch will lift guests 40 feet into the air in 4 seconds before sending them into the door vault!  Guests will have to wait a bit longer for the roller coaster since it will not open in 2027 along with the rest of Monstropolis.

Dining

Monstropolis will offer quick service dining at Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, which is named after Fear Tech’s six-legged mascot in Monsters University.  Next door to Archie’s, guests can visit Monsters University Club where they can find tributes to the elite Scarer’s Club.

Harryhausen’s Restaurant

Guests can also try the famous Harryhausen’s Restaurant where Mike and Cecilia dine in Monsters, Inc.  At the restaurant, they will be able to catch a glimpse of the audio-animatronic sushi chef preparing his latest culinary creations though the menu will offer more than just sushi.

Before leaving Monstropolis, humans can find the perfect souvenir at The Scareporium.
