Maleficent Roller Coaster and Magic Mirror Dark Ride Announced for Villains Land in Magic Kingdom

Little has been revealed about the upcoming Villains Land in Magic Kingdom since it was announced at D23 in 2024.  However, we finally have some concrete details on this wicked land where the villains have gathered, each hoping to claim the last of a corrupted wishing well’s power.  The spellbinding land with its “Conjured Architecture,” is said to be similar in size and scale to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and it will be home to the villains’ lairs, which will serve as the backdrop for the land’s two attractions and shopping and dining destinations.

The main attraction at Villains Land will be a roller coaster featuring the Mistress of All Evil, Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.  The track will take guests through the enchanted briar around Maleficent’s mountaintop fortress.  Imagineers shared that the technologically advanced coaster will include ride elements never before attempted on similar attractions.

Mirror Realm Ride

A second attraction will be a dark ride hosted by the Evil Queen’s Magic Mirror that transports riders into the Mirror Realm.  Guests will encounter various Disney Villains as a mix of special effects and physical set pieces bring the ethereal Mirror Realm to life.
