Earlier today we received some exciting news on Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge from its July 1, 2027 opening date to more details on the room layouts and decor. Even with these big updates, there is still some key information that we are missing. With less than a year to go before the resort opens, here’s what DVC Members really want to know.
Pricing and Sales Date
If you’re intrigued by Lakeshore Lodge’s lazy river, beautiful waterfront views, and unique rooms, you’re probably already asking: When will points go on sale, and how much will they go for? With nothing official announced yet, the best we can do for now is look at previous DVC resort timelines and pricing.
For example, when the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness opened on July 1, 2024 (coincidentally exactly 3 years before Lakeshore Lodge’s opening date), sales began on February 1, 2024 for DVC Members and February 27, 2024 for the general public. That means sales began about 5 months before the resort opened. If a similar timeline is followed for Lakeshore Lodge, then our best estimate would be that sales could begin around February 2027.
When it comes to pricing, Lakeshore Lodge could easily be within the $240 per point to $260 per point range given that actively selling resorts are currently going for $243 per point before incentives.
Points Charts
Before making any purchase decisions, you need to know how many Lakeshore Lodge points you would like to own. This of course means that you would need to see the points charts before February 2027. Looking again at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness as an example, we see that the Cabins’ points charts were first released on January 16, 2024. Perhaps we can expect a mid-January 2027 release of the Lakeshore Lodge points charts. This would give prospective buyers some time to study the points charts and determine how many points they would need for their Lakeshore Lodge stays.
It’s a fair bet that the Lakeshore Lodge point charts will be relatively high like the points charts of all newer DVC Resorts. I wouldn’t be surprised if the points surpass the values seen at Polynesian, despite Lakeshore Lodge’s location along Bay Lake (as opposed to the monorail loop), and I think the points values of the Lake Houses could easily rival those of the Bora Bora Bungalows, which are currently one of the most expensive DVC accommodations.
Annual Dues
While it may not make or break your decision to purchase points at Lakeshore Lodge, it would also help to know what annual dues are prior to points going on sale. For the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, projected annual dues were shared on January 17, 2024, so as with the points charts, we could be looking at a mid-January 2027 announcement.
Given Lakeshore Lodge’s large size, standalone Lake Houses, and extensive amenities like the huge Wetlands pool complex, I think dues could be on the higher end. The other wild card is whether or not Lakeshore Lodge will join the Palmetto Trust, which could potentially affect the annual dues.
Point Bookings
While we now know that DVC Members can book cash stays at Lakeshore Lodge beginning on October 6, 2026, and Annual Passholders can book cash stays starting on October 7, 2026, that still doesn’t tell us when DVC Members can begin using their points to make reservations.
For the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, the point bookings timeline was:
- Existing DVC Members who added on at the Cabins: February 15, 2024
- New DVC Members who bought points at the Cabins: March 12, 2024
- All other eligible DVC Members: April 23, 2024
If Lakeshore Lodge points do go on sale in early February 2027, we could be looking at point bookings as early as mid-February 2027.
Club Level Rooms
One new detail about Lakeshore Lodge that hasn’t been mentioned much is its Club Level accommodations. The Disney World website shares that guests at these rooms will have exclusive access to The Artist’s Nest, which is the Club Level Lounge with complimentary refreshments. Club Level guests will also have a dedicated concierge at The Artist’s Nest and personalized planning support from Disney Signature Services.
It’s no secret that DVC Members have long wished for more Club Level rooms to book with points beyond the Kilimanjaro Club rooms at Jambo House, which are incredibly difficult to reserve. It would be very exciting to see more Club Level options available for point bookings, but we do not have any confirmation yet on this. There’s still the potential that Club Level could be reserved for cash stays.
