In the middle of December, the BoardWalk quietly opened a new snack stand where the former Funnel Cake Cart was located. The snack stand isn’t listed on the Disney World website, nor does it have an official name, so the best way to learn more about it was to check it out in person. Let’s take a quick look around to see what it offers!
What Does the Snack Stand Serve?
The limited menu has a variety of snacks, beverages, and alcoholic beverages. Befitting of the boardwalk theme, you’ll find snacks such as:
- Popcorn (Saltwater taffy, kettle, and cheddar)
- Pretzels
- Churros
- Ice cream bars
- Frozen lemonade
The beverages are bottled Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani, and Powerade.

For alcoholic beverages, you’ll find:
- Bud Light
- Michelob Ultra
- Cigar City Jai Alai IPA
- High Noon Pineapple Vodka hard seltzer
- Cocktails
- Wine
Note that you can use your Disney Dining Plan snack credits at this stand for the snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Is It Worth a Visit?
I decided to try some of the popcorn since it’s one of my favorite park snacks. I was a little disappointed to learn that the popcorn is not freshly popped, which also means that you cannot get any popcorn bucket refills here.
While the saltwater taffy popcorn is the special flavor that is exclusive to the BoardWalk, it didn’t sound too appealing to me when the cast member mentioned that it is sweeter than the kettle corn. I opted for kettle corn, which I was told is the most popular among the popcorn flavors.

The popcorn, which is made by Popcorn Junkie, comes in at 5.9 oz. resealable bag. It was just okay–slightly crunchy but also on the bland side to me. Honestly, having paid $6.99 plus tax for the kettle corn, I would’ve been happier with a bag of Popcorn Indiana kettle corn or Lesser Evil’s Himalayan Sweetness popcorn for a better flavor, crunchier texture, and greater value if you’re familiar with either of these store-bought varieties.
Final Thoughts
Bottomline: The BoardWalk is in much need of more food options, so the stand is a welcome addition for whenever you have a snack craving, and thematically it is on the right track. However, the execution leaves something to be desired. Freshly popped popcorn would’ve really helped in my book.
In addition, the stand has rather limited hours. A cast member told me it is currently open from either 4pm to 10pm or 4pm to 11pm, except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays when there is no boardwalk entertainment.
What are your thoughts on the new snack stand? Will you be visiting it on your next trip to the BoardWalk?
