DVC Moonlight Magic Events Cancelled for Remainder of 2020

Disney Vacation Club announced today the cancellation of the remaining Moonlight Magic events scheduled for this calendar year. The announcement posted to their website states:

“With the safety and well-being of our Members, Guests and Cast always top of mind, Disney Vacation Club continues to evaluate our upcoming slate of Membership Magic events and make necessary adjustments. Moonlight Magic events previously scheduled for April through the end of 2020 have been cancelled.

Thank you for your patience and kindness as we all navigate the challenges surrounding COVID-19.”

This cancellation comes as many Disney Vacation Club members continued to hold out hope for the year’s final events scheduled for Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 15th, September 22nd, and October 6th, 2020. In total, 2020 saw only four Moonlight Magic events occur at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in January and February, and one event at the Magic Kingdom on March 3rd.

With this announcement, we now await news of whether we will see the return of DVC Moonlight Magic in 2021. Last year’s schedule of Moonlight Magic events was released in late-October.

  • Totally understandable but also disappointed

  • Unbelievable, parks are open but can’t have small numbers enjoy DVC only perks ? The wrong decision if parks continue to be open!

    • Definitely agree! Seems like they are trying to save money.

  • Resale continues to look better each day…

  • To each it’s own…..but, unacceptable. If parks are open, then….. Disney continues to take more and more away from its DVC members, no disputing that. Disgraceful. Waiting now till end of year when new annual dues come out for 2021. Guarantee that they will go up and that not a single member will get any rebate discount for 2020 carried over to the following year.
