All Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and Disney’s Vero Beach to Close March 20th

In addition to its previously announced theme park closures, Disney has announced that beginning at 5:00 pm on Friday – March 20th, all Disney owned and operated hotels at Walt Disney World Resort and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort will close to guests.

In addition to this, all Disney owned and operated properties at Disney Springs, Downtown Disney in Anaheim, and all Disney Stores in North America will close beginning Tuesday – March 17th.

Here is the official announcement that was made late last night via @DisneyParks on Twitter:

No official update has been provided by Disney Vacation Club at this time. Based on the information we have, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort and Aulani are still operational and have not announced closures.

What if your already in a Walt Disney Hotel and have a vacation booked for longer then this period?

Are they going to throw you out the door?

You may not even be from America then what happens?

In the statement from Disney they hope this news gives enough time to make other arrangements. If you are already in a resort hotel, however, I would check with the front desk regarding your options.

I wonder why Hilton Head resort wasn’t listed – it has to only be a matter of time before they close.

I believe some of this is currently a reaction to mandates occurring within the State of Florida.
